Declaration by the Executive Board on Accounting Methods and Auditing
The Executive Board is responsible for preparing Wacker Chemie AG’s consolidated financial statements and combined management report. WACKER’s consolidated financial statements were prepared in compliance with the rules published in London by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and endorsed by the European Union. WACKER has set up effective internal monitoring and steering systems to guarantee that the combined management report and the consolidated financial statements comply with the applicable rules and procedures of proper corporate reporting. The internal auditing division continuously examines the reliability and workability of the monitoring and steering systems on a worldwide basis. KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft has audited Wacker Chemie AG’s consolidated financial statements and Group management report and granted them an unqualified certificate. WACKER’s consolidated financial statements, its combined management report and the auditors’ report were discussed in detail by the Supervisory Board’s Audit Committee at its meeting on February 27, 2017. To the best of our knowledge, and in accordance with the applicable reporting principles, the consolidated financial statements give a true and fair view of the Group’s net assets, earnings and financial position, and the combined management report includes a fair review of the development and performance of the business and the position of the Group, together with a description of the principal opportunities and risks associated with the Group’s expected development.
