Status of Goals from 2017/2018

Add our Istanbul technical center to the ISO 9001 Group certificate; recertify German sites to ISO 50001:2018. Corporate entity: Istanbul, Turkey, site and WACKER Germany

Implementation status: Our German sites were recertified according to ISO 50001:2018 in 2020. We will add our Istanbul, Turkey, site to the ISO 9001 Group certificate in 2021.

New Goals

Apply the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) standard for sustainably produced palm oil to products containing palm oil and/or palm oil derivatives at the Burghausen, Nünchritz and Cologne sites.

Outlook

We will develop a Group strategy for the circular economy and use this as a basis for setting 2021 goals with key performance indicators (KPIs).

Within the framework of our Wacker Operating System (WOS) productivity program, our production plants have set themselves a 2021 goal of making a business value contribution of nearly €200 million. The plants anticipate that the Shape the Future efficiency program and projects in the areas of digitalization and production automation will support this goal. We will continue to offer more and more of our WOS Academy seminars online, so that participants will be able to complete certain courses (depending on the topic) online or in a hybrid format rather than solely in person.

We will use process mining as a way of systematically evaluating large quantities of data in order to create a more in-depth overview of corporate processes. This will allow us to visualize potential process improvements so that we can identify and correct inefficiencies and bottlenecks. We will introduce the corresponding system within the corporate departments and begin using it at major WACKER sites groupwide.
