Personnel Responsibility

Responsibility for the key areas of environment, health & safety, and product stewardship rests with the Group coordinators. They report direct to the WACKER Executive Board, and define groupwide standards in the form of goals and processes. These standards are to be followed by every corporate sector and site worldwide. Alongside the Group coordinators, WACKER has legally mandated officers and representatives for managing specific areas, such as incidents, and severely disabled staff.

Under German law, export-control and hazardous-materials officers must be appointed. In 2009, we made them Group coordinators. They report to the CFO, who also holds the position of Group Export Officer.

The Group coordinator for Responsible Care® supported and advised our business divisions and corporate departments in their sustainability efforts. He helped ensure that our business partners in the supply chain also commit to health & safety standards and to act responsibly toward the environment.
